Season five of The Incredible Hulk aired in 1981. I remember watching this show as a kid and loving it. It’s certainly a “little” bit different than the Hulk movies of today, but there’s something surreal about watching the original Incredible Hulk. Enjoy this flashback to the Incredible Hulk helping out a baseball pitching phenom and hitting a baseball a mile long! LOL.
The Best Scene from 1988’s ‘Bull Durham’ featuring Kevin Costner and Tim Robbins
1988’s Bull Durham was and still is one of my favorite baseball movies of all time, and in this simple scene, Kevin Costner and Tim Robbins were fantastic. To many, it was just a scene featuring an older catcher who is jealous that his younger pitcher is getting called up to the big leagues so fast, but when you really watch the scene, there are so many things happening all at once. Crash (Costner) isn’t so much jealous that Ebby (Robbins) is getting called up, but rather it’s the realization that his career is probably over because he won’t be catching for Ebby anymore. Even in the end though, he still cares for Ebby and continues to try and help him learn what to do and not to do.
Enjoy this look back at the best scene from 1988’s Bull Durham!
Classic Robin Williams Stand-Up Comedy from 1987 on Comic Relief
In 1987, the great Robin Williams appeared on Comic Relief, and in less than four minutes, his stand-up routine reminded us all why he was one of the greatest comedians of all time. No filter. No shame. Just plain funny!

Gary Shandling’s Awesome First Appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson in 1981
On March 18, 1981, Garry Shandling hit a home run with his first appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. This was actually his first appearance on national TV as well. Shandling nailed joke and after joke, and you could tell that Carson was genuinely impressed with his act.

Randall “Tex” Cobb Roasts Larry Holmes in 1989
In February, 1989, Randall “Tex” Cobb spoke at a celebrity roast of Larry Holmes. In one of the most one-sided boxing matches in history, Holmes won a unanimous decision over Cobb back in 1982. The fight went the full 15 rounds, and announcer Howard Cosell repeatedly called for the referee to stop the fight. For some unknown reason, the referee never stopped the fight despite even Holmes calling for the ref to stop the fight for fear he was going to seriously injure Cobb. However, Cobb had one of the best chins in the business, and managed to make it through the entire fight.
Fast forward to 1989, and Cobb and Holmes are really good friends, which is what made his roast of Holmes even better. Nothing was off-limits, and Cobb didn’t disappoint.
Enjoy this look back at Randall “Tex” Cobb roasting former heavyweight champion of the world, Larry Holmes in 1989!
P.S. In case you missed it, check out Cobb cracking Johnny Carson up while talking about his fight the previous year against Holmes on The Tonight Show back in 1983!
Randall “Tex” Cobb Cracks Johnny Up on the Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson in 1983
On January 14, 1983, Randall “Tex” Cobb was a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. In hilarious fashion, Tex broke down his losing fight to Larry Holmes, and had Johnny and the audience in stitches laughing so hard. If you’re like me, you remember him most as the Leonard Smalls from 1987’s Raising Arizona.
Enjoy this look back at Randall “Tex” Cobb on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson in 1983!
Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley on Oprah in 1988 with Jackie Collins and Pamela Des Barres
I remember watching this episode back in the day. In 1988, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley from Kiss were guests on The Oprah Winfrey Show along with Rock Star author Jackie Collins and rock star groupie Pamela Des Barres. The conversation centered around rock n’ roll groupies and the rock start lifestyle. Both Gene and Paul answered every question thrown at them with complete transparency and honesty.
As you can imagine, not everyone in the crowd appreciated their honesty, but what do you expect when Gene Simmons tells Oprah he slept with at least 2,000 different women in the last ten years. If you break that down, he slept with a different woman every other day for 10 years… Oy.
Enjoy this look back at Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley on the The Oprah Winfrey Show back in 1988!
Eddie Murphy’s Opening Monologue on Saturday Night Live in 1982 talking about Jewish Ghosts and Stevie Wonder
It doesn’t get any better than watching Eddie Murphy’s opening monologue on Saturday Night Live back in 1982 talking about the Jewish ghost that haunts his home, and no one does a better Stevie Wonder impression that Eddie!
Enjoy this look back at a classic opening monologue from Saturday Night Live featuring Eddie Murphy in 1982!
Young Guns – Are you really gonna kill Billy the Kid?
In this scene from 1988’s Young Guns, Billy the Kid (Emilio Estevez) overhears a man at a bar talking about how he’s going to kill Billy the Kid. Billy walks up to him and starts asking him questions, and the man, who has no clue who he’s talking to, answers him. Not a smart move…

Debbie Harry and Kermit The Frog – ‘The Rainbow Connection’ Duet from 1980
In 1980, Blondie’s Debbie Harry was a guest on The Muppet Show, and she and Kermit the Frog performed a lovely duet of The Rainbow Connection, which was written by Paul Williams and Kenneth Ascher. The song was written specifically for Kermit the Frog to sing it in 1979’s The Muppet Movie, and it actually reached number 25 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in November 1979.

Richard Pryor’s Emotional Return to The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson after Setting Himself on Fire in 1980
On June 9, 1980, Richard Pryor poured 151 proof rum on his shirt and set himself on fire with a cigarette lighter. In the documentary I Am Richard Pryor, Pryor’s widow, Jennifer Lee Pryor said it was a suicide attempt and that Richard warned her.
He warned me. He said to me, ‘I’ve decided what to do. I have to do this otherwise I don’t know how I’m going to get out. There’s no way out of this so you need to leave so you don’t get hurt too.’ I knew he was planning something, I didn’t know what. I called the house. Somebody answered and then the next thing I know they drop the phone and I heard someone screaming, and Richard at that time running through the house on fire.

In 1984, Depeche Mode released their fourth studio album, Some Great Reward. The album spawned their first top 20 hit on the Hot 100 chart in the U.S. when the first single People Are People peaked at number 13 on the Hot 100 chart in 1985.

It became their first Gold album in the United States, and the album produced their first top 40 hit on the Hot 100 chart in the U.S. as well as two top 20 hits on the Mainstream Rock chart. The first single released from the album was The One Thing, which peaked at number 30 on the Hot 100 chart and number two on the Mainstream Rock chart. The second single was Don’t Change, which many fans, including me regard as one of the best songs they ever released.

Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life – “Woke Up Just Now With One Sock Too Many” Scene
There are so many great scenes in 1983’s Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life. There’s “The Miracle of Birth” scene that always cracks us up, and then there’s this scene set during the 1st Zulu War in 1879. This one scene contains so many hilarious one-liners:
“Woke up just now… one sock too many.”
“If you’re playing football or anything, try and favor the other leg.”
“Hmm… Yes. Yes, yes, yes, yes… Well, this is nothing to worry about.”
Pure comedic genius! Enjoy this look back at one of the hilarious scenes from 1983’s Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life!
Henry Thomas’ Amazing Audition for E.T. – “Okay kid, you got the job!”
Auditions have to be one of the hardest things in the world to do. You only have a couple of minutes to impress a director, but after Henry Thomas auditioned for the part of Elliott Taylor, the 10-year-old boy who befriends E.T., a couple of minutes was all he needed. This audition was brilliant! When he starts to cry, it was all but a done deal!

Johnny and Daniel Have a Moment with REO Speedwagon in Cobra Kai
If you’re a fan of the Karate Kid movies from our youth, you owe it to yourself to watch Cobra Kai. At times it’s cheesy, but what shows aren’t these days, but all in all, it’s pretty darn good. During the first season back in 2018, Johnny and Daniel find themselves bonding somewhat when REO Speedwagon’s Take it on the Run is playing on the car radio.
Johnny: “You like Speedwagon?”
Daniel: “What kind of man doesn’t!” Amen, Daniel son… Amen!
Enjoy this look back at one of the many great scenes from the Karate Kid-inspired Cobra Kai series!
REO Speedwagon – ‘Can’t Fight This Feeling’ – Kevin Cronin’s Adorable Duet with his Daughter Holly on Stage at the Kaaboo Festival in 2019
When it comes to rock ballads, nobody does it better than REO Speedwagon, and one of the greatest rock ballads of all time is Can’t Fight This Feeling from REO’s 1984 album Wheels Are Turnin’. It was their second number one hit on the Hot 100 chart. Their first number one was another awesome rock ballad, Keep on Loving You from 1980.
REO is still rockin’ the stage and sounding as good as ever, and in 2019 at the Kaaboo Festival, something special happened on stage. Lead singer Kevin Cronin brought his daughter Holly on stage with him to sing Can’t Fight This Feeling, and it was adorable.
Enjoy this look back to 2019 with REO Speedwagon and Holly Cronin performing Can’t Fight This Feeling live at the Kaaboo Festival!
Eddie Van Halen – One of the Greatest Guitar Solos of All Time – Live in 1986
During Van Halen’s famous live concert in 1986 from the New Haven Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Eddie Van Halen performed one of the greatest solos we’ve ever hear. For over 13 minutes, Eddie mesmerized the crowd with a solo that included licks from Van Halen’s songs 316, Eruption, Cathedral, Mean Street, and Spanish Fly. This is definitely one of the greatest guitar solos of all time, and we know you’re going to enjoy it!

‘Rambo: First Blood’ – Colonel Trautman Comes To Rescue the Sheriff from Rambo
Rambo: First Blood was released to theaters on October 22, 1982 and grossed over $125 million at the box office on a budget of just $15 million. It was the first movie in the Rambo series, and in our opinion, the best of them all. They’re all good, but you can’t beat the original. In this scene, we’re introduced to Colonel Samuel R. “Sam” Trautman, the man who made Rambo as he informs Sheriff Teasle that he’s not here to rescue Rambo from them, but rather rescue them from Rambo.
Enjoy this look back at our first look at Colonel Trautman in Rambo: First Blood from 1982!
Guns N’ Roses Perform ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ live on The MTV VMA’s in 1988 with Introduction by Sam Kinison
In 1988, Guns N’ Roses performed their breakout hit Welcome to the Jungle live at the MTV Video Music Awards. They were introduced by the late Sam Kinison. They won the VMA for Best New Artist during the show, which was broadcast live on September 7, 1988 from the Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles, CA and was hosted by Arsenio Hall.

‘Big’ Starring Tom Hanks – Playing the Piano Scene from 1988
Big was released to theaters on June 3, 1988. It starred Tom Hanks as adult Josh Haskin, a young boy who makes a wish to be “big”, and is transformed overnight into an adult. Big was a huge hit at the box office taking in over $150 million on a budget of only $18 million, and Tom Hanks won a Golden Globe award for Best Actor.
This is one of our favorite scenes when adult Josh plays the foot piano with the boss of his company, Mr. MacMillan, played by the late Robert Loggia. Enjoy this look back at one of our favorite scenes from 1988’s Big starring Tom Hanks!
Back to School featuring Rodney Dangerfield – “It Was a Really Big Check” Scene
Back to School was released to theaters in 1986 and starred Rodney Dangerfield as a wealthy but uneducated father who goes to college to show solidarity with his discouraged son and ends up learning that he can’t buy happiness or an education.
It’s a hilarious movie with so many great scenes. In this scene, Thornton Melon, played by Dangerfield is being honored by Dean Martin (Ned Beatty) at the ground-breaking of the new Melon School of Business Administration, to which Dr. Phillip Barbay (Paxton Whitehead) does not approve, but Dean Martin sets him straight by saying, It was a really big check!
Enjoy a look back at the “really big check” scene as well as our favorite scene from the movie featuring Sam Kinison as Professor Terguson in 1986’s Back To School!
Caddyshack Deleted Scene Featuring Bill Murray and Chevy Chase
There are so many great scenes in Caddyshack that it’s no surprise there were tons of scenes that didn’t make the final cut in the movie. Here’s a scene that I’ve never seen before that features Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, and Michael O’Keefe. In this scene, Carl rides up on Ty and Danny on the course and proceeds to critique/correct Ty’s golf swing. If you’re a fan of Caddyshack, you’ll love this deleted scene!
’80s Rock Legends Def Leppard are back with a New Album – Watch Videos for ‘Kick’, ‘Fire It Up’ and ‘Take What You Want’ From Their New Album ‘Diamond Star Halos’
Def Leppard are in the midst of the long-awaited stadium tour with Motley Crue, Poison, and Joan Jett, and just in time, they released a kick ass new album on Friday, May 28, 2022 called Diamond Star Halos. The first single released from the album, Kick became their first single to chart on the Billboard Rock charts since 2006’s Rock On. Kick peaked at number 34 earlier in 2022. This may not seem like a big deal, but it’s been forever since any of our favorite bands from the ’80s who are still releasing great music had a song peak within the top 40 of any major Billboard chart. Maybe it’s a sign of things to come… We’ll keep our fingers crossed.
For now, sit back and enjoy a look at three new music videos from Def Leppard for Kick, Fire It Up, and Take What You Want!
Pete Townshend – ‘Let My Love Open The Door’ Music Video from 1980
In 1980, The Who’s legendary guitarist Pete Townshend released his second solo studio album titled Empty Glass. The second single released from the album was Let My Love Open The Door, which became his first top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart when it peaked at number nine in 1980. Despite the success of the song, Townshend didn’t consider it one of his best songs. According to Rolling Stone, Townshend called Let My Love Open The Door a little ditty, but preferred A Little Is Enough from the album.
Enjoy this look back at the music video for Let My Love Open the Door, a live performance of the song from 1982, as well as the live promo video for A Little Is Enough!
Rick Springfield – ‘Jessie’s Girl’ 40th Anniversary Live
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of his album Working Class Dog, ageless Rick Springfield recorded a live version of Jessie’s Girl at his home. Rick looks and sounds amazing, and it’s almost unbelievable that he’s 72 years old. He looks like he’s still in his 40s!!!
Jessie’s Girl was a number one hit on the Hot 100 chart for Springfield in 1981, and in 2018 Billboard ranked it number 186 on it’s greatest songs of all time.
Enjoy this look at Rick Springfield performing Jessie’s Girl live at his home as well as his original music video for Jessie’s Girl from 1981!
Also, we want to give a shoutout to Youtube user Delaney for this comment on Springfield’s Jessie’s Girl music video on YouTube. Awesome Delaney!
The Eagles – ‘Seven Bridges Road’ Amazing Rehearsal Footage
In 1980, The Eagles released an album titled Eagles Live, and it contained one of our favorite songs of all time. Seven Bridges Road is an amazing song that was written by musician Steve Young for his 1969 Rock Salt & Nails & Seven Bridges Road album. However, The Eagles version is the most remembered version of the song, and it’s certainly one of the greatest cover songs of all time!
Enjoy this look back at archived footage of The Eagles rehearsing Seven Bridges Road before a concert as well as the band performing the song live in concert, and in case you’ve never heard the original version, enjoy a live performance of the song by Steve Young in 1985!
