In 1982, Billy Idol released his self-titled debut album and scored two top 40 hits on the Hot 100 chart with Hot in the City and White Wedding. White Wedding peaked at number 36 on the Hot 100 chart, but went all the way to number four on the Mainstream Rock chart. He re-released White Wedding in the UK in 1985 and it peaked at number six on the UK charts.
