Heaven is Warrant’s biggest hit. In 1989, it peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and number three on the Billboard Rock charts.
Heaven’s success was a surprise to Warrant’s record company who has them re-record the song to give it a “bigger radio sound”. The first 250,000 copies sold of the album featured the original version whereas the later pressings of the album featured a new version of the song. Jani Lane and Steven Sweet had previously recorded the song with their old band Plain Jane.

This is the band my brother Joshua Lee Gardiner adored and of course SKID ROW…. My brother died due to injuries he had from a car wreck …he died Nov 23,1989…he was my best friend… I have metastized cancer from breast cancer… My cancer is genetic and extremely aggressive it’s in my liver, 2 places in my lower spine, and now due to a seizure that caused me to respiratory arrest, a brain tumor… It’s still small enough for the doctors to remove with radiated laser surgery… Which I’m having done tomorrow morning… On top of it all my husband Ronald HAMMONDS is in the same hospital in Tyler Texas due to having a stroke over all this in which later he had a cardiac arrest so he is in cardio vascular ICU unresponsive on a breathing machine and feeding tube… I’m beside myself.. This song was brothers song but now the way things are going… Its me n my husband’s song…
