During the ’80s, Thompson Twins scored three top ten singles on the Hot 100 charts as well as four number one singles on the US Dance charts. Their three top ten singles on the Hot 100 charts were Hold Me Now, #3 in ’83, Lay Your Hands on Me, #6 in ’85, and this song, King for a Day, which peaked at number eight in 1985. This was their last top ten hit on the Hot 100 charts.
