In 1982, Thomas Dolby released his most famous song, She Blinded Me with Science. The song was a huge hit worldwide topping the charts in Canada and peaking at number five on the Hot 100 charts, number three on the US Dance charts, and number six on the Mainstream Rock charts.

She Blinded Me with Science was ranked number 20 on VH1’s 2002 “100 Greatest One-hit Wonders”. To Dolby, music videos were “short silent films with a soundtrack.” According to Wikipedia, the video for She Blinded Me with Science was conceived and storyboarded before the song was written. Dolby added the song title, wrote the song to fit the planned video, and then directed the music video.
