In 1983, The Judds released their first extended play album called Wynonna & Naomi. The album produced their first number one single on the Billboard Country charts when Mama He’s Crazy topped the chart in 1984. They followed it up with another number one single for Why Not Me, the first single released from their 1984 album of the same name.
Sadly, Naomi Judd passed away on April 30, 2022. In a statement released on April 30th, Wynonna and Ashley Judd said, “Today we sisters experienced a tragedy. We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness,” the statement said. “We are shattered. We are navigating profound grief and know that as we loved her, she was loved by her public. We are in unknown territory.”
As we remember Naomi, here’s a look back at the music video for Mama He’s Crazy, and a look at their amazing performance of Love Can Build A Bridge a few weeks ago at the 2022 CMT Music Awards. So sad… RIP Naomi…
