Poison – ‘Every Rose Has Its Thorn’ Music Video

December 26, 2017 By the80sruled Leave a Comment

Poison’s ‘Every Rose Has Its Thorn’ is one of the most successful singles from any ’80s hair band. It hit number one on the Hot 100 charts as well as the Canadian charts in 1988.

In an interview on VH1’s Behind the Music, Bret Michaels said the inspiration behind the song came when he was in a laundromat one night and called his girlfriend on a pay phone. He heard a male voice in the background while talking to her and was devastated. He went back into the laundromat and wrote the lyrics to the song.

Enjoy this look back at Poison’s music video for Every Rose Has Its Thorn as well as a live performance from MTV’s New Year’s Eve Bash in 1988!
