In the late ’80s when he was an up-and-coming comedian, Jeff Foxworthy appeared at Dangerfield’s, a comedy club on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York City. The club was named after, and founded by Rodney Dangerfield and his long-time friend Anthony Bevacqua in 1969. Dangerfield’s only hosted headliners, with no amateur or open mic nights. Notable performers over the years included George Carlin, Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, Jim Carrey, Sam Kinison, and in 1989 Jeff Foxworthy.

Enjoy this look back at Jeff Foxworthy sharing his advice about how to know if you’re a redneck with New Yorkers in 1989!
