On July 13, 1984, David Letterman was a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Carson was always a huge fan of Dave’s. He had him on the show multiple times, and they always got along great. I love their interaction in this interview when Dave tells a joke about the good things that come from earthquakes. The joke doesn’t really go over that well, but Dave and Johnny’s reactions are vintage Letterman and Carson!
