Christopher Cross – ‘Sailing’ from 1980

Christopher Cross released his self-titled debut album on December 20, 1979. The album was a huge success and won the 1981 Grammy Award for Album of the Year, beating out Pink Floyd’s The Wall album. The album produced four top 20 hits on the Hot 100 charts including a number one hit for Sailing. The third single Never Be the Same was a number one hit on AC charts.

    ” Sailing ” is a 1980 soft rock song written and recorded by American artist Christopher Cross. It was released in June 1980 as the second single from his eponymous debut album (1979). The song was a success in the United States, reaching number one on the The song also won Grammy Awards for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Arrangement of the Year, and helped Cross win the Best New Artist award.
