Mr. Warmth Don Rickles on The Tonight Show in 1984

Throughout the history of The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, whenever Don Rickles appeared on the show, Johnny basically just sat back let him go. It was a brilliant move by a host. Every now and then, Johnny would ask Don a question, but usually, Rickles just came out, sat down and started going, and when he was on, nobody was funnier. One of Johnny’s best skills was just letting his guests be as funny as they wanted and he didn’t interrupt. He did the same when Jonathan Winters or Robin Williams appeared on the show. Just bring them out and start laughing!

Enjoy this look back to 1984 when Mr. Warmth himself, Don Rickles appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson!

We can’t get enough of Don Rickles on The Tonight Show, so we thought we’d share some more of Rickles on The Tonight Show throughout the years. Enjoy!
