Who knew the ’80s would produce so many songs that describe 2020 perfectly! Here’s a look at 10 songs from the ’80s that describe what life has been like for us all in 2020!

Cinderella – ‘Don’t Know What You’ve Got (Till It’s Gone)’

If there’s one song from the ’80s that describes exactly how we all feel about 2020, this is it. We had no idea how good we had it until concerts were taken away from us. Especially considering 2020 was about to become one of the best concert years in decades with so many ’80s bands going out on tour!

Cher – ‘If I Could Turn Back Time’

Yes please! Can I please turn back time to the ’80s and relive the decade one more time!

Huey Lewis and the News – ‘Stuck With You’

For those of us who were fortunate enough to be stuck in quarantine with our best friend, 2020’s quarantine wasn’t too bad being stuck inside with them…

The Police – ‘Don’t Stand So Close To Me’

Lookout now… keep your social distance and don’t stand so close to me!

Georgia Satellites – ‘Keep Your Hands To Yourself’

Don’t touch! No huggie, no kissie, and keep your hands to yourself!

R.E.M. – ‘It’s the End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)’

So true…

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers – ‘Don’t Come Around Here No More’

Hey, hey
Don’t come around here no more
Don’t come around here no more
Whatever you’re looking for
Hey, don’t come around here no more
I’ve given up, stop
I’ve given up, stop
I’ve given up, stop, on waiting any longer…

George Thorogood and the Destroyers – ‘I Drink Alone’

Now this is one song that rings true for so many during this damn pandemic!

Billy Idol – ‘Dancing With Myself’

Well, what else are you going to do on a lonely Friday night?

Styx – ‘Too Much Time On My Hands’

Man, do we! I’ve never had this much time on my hands with nothing to do.

Bonus Song – Journey – ‘Don’t Stop Believin’

We couldn’t end this list without adding in one last song of hope. 2020 is almost over, and here’s to hoping and believin’ that 2021 is going to be so much better!
