Journey Performing ‘Anytime’ Live in Concert in 1980

Anytime was the second single released from Journey’s 1978 Infinity album. The other two singles released from the album are two of our all time favorites from Journey, Wheel in the Sky and Lights.

The live performance below of Anytime from Osaka, Japan in 1980 is so good! Original keyboardist Gregg Rolie dueted with Steve Perry on Anytime. Rolie was an original member of Santana and sang lead vocals on their iconic hit Black Magic Woman. In 1973, Rolie joined a new band with ex-Santana guitarist Neal Schon. This band became Journey, and he was the keyboardist for the band’s first six albums. Rolie sang lead vocals on a number of Journey’s early hits until Steve Perry joined the band in 1977, and he and Perry became co-lead singers. Rolie left the band in 1980.

Enjoy this look back at Journey performing their classic hit Anytime live in concert in Osaka, Japan in 1980 as well as their music video for Wheel in the Sky from the 1981 Escape Tour, and their original music video for Lights from 1978!
