Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was released to theaters in May 1984 and became one of the ’80s highest grossing films bringing in over $333 million at the box office. It was the second installment in the Indiana Jones franchise and was a prequel to 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark.
