In 1984, The Cars released their fifth studio album called Heartbeat City. It was the most successful album of their career peaking at number one on the US Rock Albums chart and selling over four million copies. The album produced four top 20 songs on the Hot 100 charts including two top ten hits for You Might Think (#7) and this song, Drive, which peaked at number three. Drive was their highest charting song on the Hot 100 charts.
