In 1982, Hank Williams Jr. appeared on Late Night with David Letterman. At the time of his appearance on the show, Hank Jr. had scored three number one country singles in a row, and he was promoting his new single A Country Boy Can Survive on the show. In the interview with Letterman, Hank Jr. talked about what it was like growing up as the son of a country music legend and how he carved out his own place in country music.
