Alabama – ‘Love in the First Degree’ from 1981

February 20, 2022 By the80sruled Leave a Comment

During the entire decade of the ’80s, Alabama released 29 singles, and 27 of them hit number one on the Billboard Hot Country chart. That is unbelievable! The only two songs that didn’t hit number one were still top 20 hits with My Home’s in Alabama peaking at number 17 in 1980 and Tar Top peaking at number seven in 1987.

Three of their number one country singles were also top 20 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, with 1981’s Love in the First Degree being their highest charting single of the decade on the Hot 100 chart, peaking at number 15 and number five on the AC chart. The other two top 20 singles on the Hot 100 chart were 1981’s Feels So Right (#20) and 1982’s Take Me Down (#18).

Enjoy this look back at a couple of live performances of Love in the First Degree from 1981 as well as their music videos for Feels So Right and Take Me Down!
