I owe the title of this post to Himmel on YouTube. His comment on this post was, “Eastwood and Smith are bookends to a bygone ear of awesomeness.” We could not agree more. They just don’t make movies or men like they used to. Clint Eastwood and William Smith were two of the toughest guys in Hollywood back in the late ’70s and early ’80s. In this scene from Any Which Way You Can, Philo Beddoe (Clint Eastwood) and Jack Wilson (William Smith) meet in a bar and get into a fight… just not with each other. At the time, this was one of the longest two-man fight scenes on screen.
Enjoy this look back at the bar fight scene from Any Which Way You Can from 1980 and RIP to William Smith who passed away in July 2021.
