The Final Countdown is probably one of the most successful worldwide songs of the entire decade of the 80s. It hit number one in 25 countries, and it was a top ten hit here in the United States. While it is Europe’s most memorable song, it’s not their highest charting single in the US. In 1987, their song Carrie hit number three on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, but they’ll always be remembered by the keyboard riff at the beginning of The Final Countdown!
