An Officer and a Gentleman was released in 1982 and starred Richard Gere, Debra Winger, and Louis Gosseett, Jr. The movie told the story of Zack, played by Richard Gere, who is a Navy Aviation Officer Candidate who is beginning his training at Aviation Candidate School. While in school, Zack meets and falls in love with Paula, played by Debra Winger. In the final scene of the movie, Zack literally sweeps Paula off her feet!
