On September 4, 1980, Mr. Rogers made his first appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Before he came out, Johnny played a snippet of a past skit called Mr. Codgers’ Neighborhood. If you never saw this, you’re gonna love this one. Mr. Rogers was such a genuine human being who took it all in stride.
