Steven Wright is one of the most creative comedians of the last 40 years, and on August 6, 1982, he made his first appearance on national TV on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. The coolest part of this video is at the very end when Johnny and Steven are talking and he says we’ll be right back and you see Johnny give a little fist jab at the end. You could tell he genuinely enjoyed having him on the show and was proud of him. Johnny was always a class act!

Enjoy this look back at comedian Steven Wright’s very first appearance on national TV on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson!
