L.A. Guns have been releasing some great rock songs since the late ’80s, and one of their best songs and hits was The Ballad of Jayne from their 1989 album Cocked & Loaded. It peaked at #33 on the Hot 100 charts and #25 on the Mainstream Rock charts. It’s since become one of the better rock ballads of the last 30 years.
The song was said to have been written about Jayne Mansfield. In 2009, VH1 ranked the song at #93 on their list of the 100 Greatest One-Hit Wonders of the ’80s!
