The Go-Go’s released their debut album Beauty and the Beat in 1981, and the first single was Our Lips Are Sealed, which became their first top 20 hit on the Hot 100 charts when it peaked at number 20. They followed it up with their highest charting single of their career, We Got the Beat, which peaked at number two on the Hot 100 charts.

During their career, they scored one more top 20 song on the Hot 100 charts when Vacation peaked at number eight on the Hot 100 charts in 1982.
